For many, the prospect of being interviewed by the media is a daunting one. That’s understandable. You may be successful at what you do, but this is out of your comfort zone. What if I mess up? And what if people I respect see me?
At Speak, we’re here to allow you to practise media interviews, so that when you come to do the real thing, you are in your comfort zone.

We’ll guide you through the interview process, giving you practical hands-on experience of taking part in interviews, pointing out the pitfalls to easily avoid along the way.
You’ll feel so much more confident having been able to experience the interview dynamic so that when you come to do the real thing, you are able to focus on getting your messages across. This is particularly important if you are faced with the crisis management of an issue where the media may become involved. We will practise potential crisis scenarios and your response to them with you during the course.
Courses at your office
We provide the convenience of coming to your office or selected location to carry out your training. Complete with camera, tripod and microphones, our courses realistically recreate the interview experience and also provide the opportunity to focus on and hone your key messages. We can provide guidance on what elements work best in a media context. In fact, you will be able to use some of the skills you pick up on Speak’s courses away from the cameras, for example in meetings or non-media interviews where you will be able to control the direction of the conversation more than you think.
Courses tailored to your needs: 1-2-1 courses; group courses
We can tailor courses to your needs and priorities. If just one of you needs training, that’s great, we can provide the exclusivity of intensive one-to-one training. If there is the requirement for a small group to be trained that provides scope for discussion and exchange of information.
Each course includes:
- A series of radio and TV interviews with camera equipment, tripod, lighting and microphones
- In-depth feedback on each interview
- Opportunities to hone key messages
- Crisis scenario rehearsals
- Copies of your interviews sent to you by email for your record
